...a note from Christine...

Boy, December was packed with as much living as is humanly possible.  3500 miles in the truck took us up to snowy South Dakota and across that magical state playing for thousands of folks, many of whom have known Chris for a lifetime.  Deep gratitude to the members of A South Dakota Acoustic Christmas for including us this year.
We came home to a full house of family for the holidays and Chris turned out some amazing meals while I scurried around behind him making order and doing dishes.  If you know us. you understand that we were both totally happy with our roles.  A Virgo with a Cancer moon derives much pleasure and grounding from cleaning her own home!  A Leo (Chris) loves to create with wild abandon - in the kitchen (or anywhere) - so our partnership works well.
This is a full month of quirky gigs and CD releases.  Singing the national anthem at the Erwin Center will be a blast, as will sending our voices to the heavens at Riverbend Church.  I look forward to finally playing the new songs on "Cry Love".  A new year, new music....good timing.
2005 got off to a shaky start and evolved into one of the most enriching and satisfying years of my life.  Chris and I learned many valuable lessons throughout the ordeal of his injury, surgery and recovery.  Mostly we learned that we have an incredible community of friends and family that is there for us and loves us.  Sometimes you have to surrender and let that invisible net of love and support soften your fall.  Thank you for the easy landing.
Wishing you all a 2006 overflowing with a sense of purpose and a loving heart.

Christine

Quote of the Month
My great hope is to laugh as much as I cry; to get my work done and try to love somebody and have the courage to accept the love in return.

...and a note from Chris...

So begins the new year.  It always feels like a fresh start somehow, even though I know it's just a calendar trick.  But...I've had success with many New Year's resolutions over the years, and I'm going to give it my best again this year.  A healthier diet is definitely on the list.  My old boss Roy Clark used to say "I've been on a diet since birth - I figure I've lost at least a thousand pounds all together".  It's time to step away from the peanut brittle and the pie and the eggnog and get back to the basics - Mexican food!
As the years roll by and I continue my chosen career as a musician / entertainer, I find jokes about getting older become funnier.  Here's some musician quips for you, more true than not.
Till next time.    Chris

You Might Be Too Old to Gig If ---

-- Before each gig, you find yourself warming up more parts of your body.

-- Your fans have left by 10:30 p.m.

-- All you want from groupies is a foot massage.

-- You've lost the directions to the gig.

-- You need your glasses to see your amp settings.

-- You've thrown out your back jumping off the stage.

-- High notes make you cough.

-- You're related to at least one other member of the band.

-- You need a nap before the gig.
