Albert & Gage: It's a slow month for the duo, so try to get to "First Wednesday at Donn's Depot" for a good dose before we dive into studio work and separate projects. Christine has started a weekly "French Happy Hour" at Lamberts in downtown Austin, a brand new restaurant featuring modern interpretations of Texas cuisine with a bar that features local music, wonderful appetizers and of course, fine wine and cocktails. Joined by David Carroll on upright bass and David Webb on piano (and the occasional appearance by Chris Gage), Ms. Albert will be expressing her inner chanteuse every Thursday from 6-8 PM. Chris can still be found every Monday night at the grand piano just inside the front door of Donn's Depot in Austin. MoonHouse Studio: Chris is mixing the upcoming Red Willow Band live CD, recorded for the South Dakota Public Broadcasting DVD about the band, still infamous in South Dakota after 30 odd years. . Other projects in the pipeline are "The Texafrance Collection" - a compilation of tracks from the previous two Texafrance CDs and newly recorded material, and new CDs by Abi Tapia and the Austin duo Jim Patton and Sherry Brokus, aka Edge City.
MoonHouse Records:
Coming soon: "Red Willow
Band - Live at the Belbus " and "The
Texafrance Collection" (both working titles). Stay tuned for more.

...a note from Christine...
Happy
New Year everyone. It is January 1st and honestly, I haven't had time
to reflect much about the year past or the year ahead. This has been a
very active holiday season for us, filled with gigs, friends, events,
festivities, love, visitors, action, action, action. Chris and I seem
to attract motion and activity and are learning to embrace that. But
there is also a need for quiet and solitude and we'll get more of that this
month as we stay close to home and work on
studio projects. In the
year ahead I intend to focus on my French music and record some new songs
for a Texafrance collection, develop a weekly gig at Lambert's in Austin and
just get more comfortable in my chanteuse skin. |
Non-Profit of the Month
"This time, like
all times, is a very good one, if we but know what to do with it."

...and a note from Chris... Thus begins another chapter in the epic saga of life. There's a Kevin Costner movie where he says something like "out the front windshield is the future, and out the back window is the past." May all of our windshields be bug-free. We too have
wandered many a mile For
auld lang
syne my dear We too have
walked many a street I知 sure
you値l be your own fine friend |
