The month of May we're off to Oklahoma...Wildflower Festival...Kerrville Folk Festival...Austin Lyric Opera...San Antonio

Albert and Gage e-newsletter May 2008

Albert and Gage:   It's been all about Christine's French music for the last month, but we're starting to gear back up for some very fun dates.  One of our favorite festivals, the Wildflower Festival has asked us back yet again - thanks for the invite.  And....Dalis has booked us for the main stage at the Kerrville Folk Festival, a true Texas happening.  We're proud to be taking the stage there once again.  You've got one more chance to see the French band in San Antonio at Casbeers on the 8th of May.  Absolutely the best burgers and enchiladas in this part of the world.  Stay tuned...our world keeps surprising us.

MoonHouse Studio:   The studio has been quiet while we run around Texas playing French music to promote the release of Paris, Texafrance, but Eliza Gilkyson managed to sneak in and record a vocal part for a song by our good friend  Freebo that will be on a benefit CD for Eric Lowen of Lowen and Navarro

Eric Lowen (left in hat) is a wonderful performer who is battling ALS.  Visit their website to learn much more about this inspiring duo.

Coming up on the MoonHouse Studio list of ventures:  Rio King, who married into the Jim and Linda dancing family will record his original material; Steve Brooks will return from a tour to settle into a CD project; our studio neighbor Bill Small has enlisted Chris as his producer for a summer project; and pre-production has begun on Albert and Gage "The Songs of Tom Peterson".  It's true, if you build it, they will come.

MoonHouse Records:  "Paris, Texafrance" is out of the gate, and is receiving critical acclaim along with fast sales.  John Conquest (3rd Coast Music) even gave it 4 flowers!  Order your copy at www.moonhouserecords.com and watch for it in stores later this summer, as we've secured national distribution for the "Texafrance" series through Burnside Distribution.  Abi Tapia's "Beauty in the Ruin" will hit radio in June and stores in July.

"Paris, Texafrance" review on Music Road - thanks Kerry Dexter!

a note from Christine...

My note this month is going to be brief because we're still trying to hit the road tonight and I'm not done with a bunch of other stuff.  Pardon-moi please!
We played all over the state this month (thanks to everyone who made these shows such a blast), got the new CD out to radio and press, got Abi's CD in to be pressed, hosted a wonderful Swan Songs private fundraiser, had house guests, planted the garden.....you get the picture.  Life is rich and my heart is in it, but right now my brain is a bit too full to wax poetic or profound.
Happy Mother's Day to all and especially Mother Earth.  We will have a double celebration this year on Mother's Day because it is also our fifth anniversary weekend.

I'm honored to be Troupe's mother and Betty's daughter.

Special thanks to David Carroll and Chip Dolan for all the wonderful notes they played on the French shows.
     Okay - time to drive.
     Love,   Christine

Quote of the Month
"A simple enough pleasure, surely, to have breakfast alone with one's husband, but how seldom married people in the midst of life achieve it."
Anne Morrow Lindbergh

and a blurb from Chris...

Happy Mother's Day, Mom.  I think about you all the time, but for some reason don't get you on the phone as much as I'd like.  We're coming up there in August, and I hope we get a good chance to catch up.  You've always been an inspiration.  Here's a picture of you taking a picture.  I think it's lovely.  To the rest of you:  Call your Mom.  And your step-mom, if you have one.  And your Mother-in-law. And....you get the idea..

We're off to Oklahoma for the weekend, in fact we're going to drive tonight to get past Dallas while the traffic is light (if that's even possible on I-35).  It's a spectacular sight when you come into view of the Dallas downtown skyline.

     See you at the gig.
     Chris
