Albert & G
age:  The October/November issue of Dirty Linen magazine features an in depth article about Albert and Gage, written by Kerry Dexter.  You can read part of it on line or it is also available on some newsstands.  We will eventually post the whole thing on our website.  Thanks to KD and DL for the support and ink!

This is a big travel month for us - from the southern tip of Big Bend National Park in Texas to the eastern tip of Acadia National Park in Maine.  Columbus Day weekend we'll be singing under the stars in a 1500 foot high canyon with Texas on one side of the Rio Grande and Mexico on the other.  We might take a year off of doing this annual trip, so we're going to really enjoy it.  We're traveling to Cape Cod for a couple heart-healthy shows, and on to the great states of Vermont and Maine to round out our East Coast tour.  "Back East", Christine calls it...

MoonHouse Studio:  Mixing Albert and Gage's new CD.  Watch for some new songs never performed in public.  Our link of the month is Todd Hoke, whose most recent CD is a Chris Gage production.  Last month featured Abi Tapia, also produced by Chris here at MoonHouse.   We've had some great music come through these doors.

MoonHouse Records:   The new Albert and Gage CD will be available for early purchasing by Christmas, with the official release coming in January 2006.  If you have not yet heard Cowboy Johnson or Michael Austin, please visit www.moonhouserecords.com for a taste.

...a note from Christine...

Another tough month for all of us here on Planet Earth.  Hurricanes, fires, suicide bombers, massive traffic jams, high gas prices...it is easy to feel disheartened and overwhelmed.  But radical events can propel action, movement, compassion and unity.  We're recording a John Hiatt song, "Cry Love", and the lyric asks "What you gonna do when the planet shifts?"  I guess we all have to answer that one on our own.
I am busy with the creation of Swan Songs, a non-profit that will organize private concerts by a favorite artist for individuals with a life threatening illness.  We have a fantastic board and are making great progress.  We will be up and running by springtime and I look forward to sharing this with you as it all unfolds.
I also serve on the Board of Governors of the Texas Chapter of The Recording Academy. Their MusiCares Foundation is an ever present source of support for musicians in crisis.  The Hurricane Relief Fund will go directly to aid the musicians impacted by Katrina and Rita.  Check it out.
Meanwhile, we sing, work, garden and count our many blessings.

Christine

PS. The link I sent last month to the article about my son Troupe didn't work well, so here it is again.
Troupe Gammage in the Statesman

Created by The Recording Academy, the heart and soul of MusiCares is the Emergency Financial Assistance Program that provides critical funds for music people struggling with financial, medical or personal crises.

...and a note from Chris...

We're just sick from watching the hurricanes ravage the Gulf Coast and people scrambling for cover all over the country.  24 hour news is a blessing and a curse, but I wouldn't want it any other way.  We try to help in our own way, and I guess that's all any of us can do, but man, what a helpless feeling.
I look forward to getting out of the studio this month and seeing some scenery and people.  One time we played in Cape Cod I dragged Christine out on a whale watching trip, and we had 3 beautiful jumpers following our boat for over an hour!!

A cold front blew in this morning, and we opened our doors for the first fresh air in 4 months.  Fall thru Spring is the wonderful time to be in Austin!!

Till we meet again, thanks for listening.

Chris
