Welcome to the September '05 Albert and
Gage newsletter. MoonHouse Studio: This month's project is Albert and Gage! We've been writing and recording and it's time to put everything else aside and get creative. We've gotten good audience response from the new songs we've played out, so here they come. The big sound news is that we've learned to use Steinway piano samples, triggered by an electronic piano. Wow! The difference is amazing, and you'll hear it on our new CD as well as Boyd's. MoonHouse Records: The new Albert and Gage CD will be available for early purchasing by Christmas, with the official release coming in January 2006. If you have not yet heard Cowboy Johnson or Michael Austin, please visit www.moonhouserecords.com for a taste. |

...a note from Christine... Greetings all, I am excited tonight as we prepare to pick up the thread of our recording. We have been writing in the moments between the tasks that always call and the completion of Boyd Bristow's wonderful CD. So now we weave our ideas together on a new album. Yes, I still call it an album. To me, a CD is the tangible thing that you put in your player. An album is a collection of songs that capture a moment in time in some way that makes sense to the artist, and hopefully the listener! As a proud mom, I have to let you all know that my gifted and cool son, Troupe Gammage, was recently featured in the Austin-American Statesman. Read all about his blossoming talent and career in music here. And, the most exciting news this month is that on September 12 I will celebrate my 50th birthday! I am grateful that life has given me so much, and I embrace the future with open arms. I'll be at Donn's Depot that night, since the love of my life will be there at the grand piano. There will be quiet and private rituals to mark this momentous occasion, but at Donn's on the 12th I will party and sing and hug my friends! Gratefully yours, Christine |
We started working on this newsletter five days ago. Since that time thousands of lives have been lost or changed forever as Hurricane Katrina devastated the gulf coast. Our hearts are breaking as our nation and planet faces another unspeakable catastrophe. We can financially donate to the relief efforts, but it is easy to feel powerless. Today we re-commit to gratitude, generosity, compassion and balance in our own lives. There is so much to heal in this world. If we start with our little corner of the universe...maybe we can turn the tide. Christine and Chris

...and a note from Chris... Hello, and a happy autumn to you and yours... I survived another birthday, (Aug. 13) and had a wonderful time at the Depot that night with the band. Bruce Logan played drums and old pal Dave Heath was on the bass. It's quite special when the piano at Donn's is covered with birthday cards and wine bottles. Number 1 fan Merry Ellen Featherstone had driven in from Houston with her best friends and they had hung up balloons behind my head that kept popping at opportune moments. I heard from several family members by phone, and even talked to both of my children! Christine treated me like a King, of course, and I've been watching the West Wing DVD set late at night with wireless headphones on. (A must for night owls with sleeping family upstairs). Enjoy the Fall, the ice and snow are on it's heels. (Not so much snow in Texas, but we can dream). Oh my gosh, have you tried Google Earth, the 3D map you can play around with? It's totally amazing. I can see a red car parked in front of my house! Chris |
