Albert & Gage:
Our travel begins this month with a trip to South Dakota.  Red Willow Band (Chris's band in the 70's) is playing a few killer shows and we'll also be squeezing in an A&G concert at the Washington Pavilion in Sioux Falls.  Red Willow still has a loyal following so the shows are bound to be inspired.  Our non-profit partner is DakotAbilities and part of the proceeds go to that valuable organization that serves South Dakotans with developmental disabilities.  South Dakota Public Television has asked Red Willow Band to add one concert to their tour on Monday, September 18th.  SDPB will be filming it and releasing the show on DVD in March 2007 as part of their spring fundraising efforts. (Details below)

MoonHouse Studio:
Work continues on the upcoming Lawrence J. Clark gospel CD.  Terry Smith came in with producer Bill Small for basic tracks and some Gage guitar.  Timing was perfect....Terry, Bill and Chris all share the same August 13 birthday.

MoonHouse Records:
MoonHouse Records will retain the CD rights to the upcoming Red Willow Band live recording and will be preparing that for a spring release.  Our Cry Love airplay list has been updated.  Check out all the stations we are grateful to here!  Check out the websites for MoonHouse artists Cowboy Johnson and Michael Austin that Chris created this month.  Cowboy will be opening the Albert and Gage show in Sioux Falls.  He and Chris have known each other since the 70's in The Black Hills

Our music can be found on iTunes now!

Radio stations can download tracks at Airplay Direct

...a note from Christine...

It's been a busy month, even though we stayed home.  When we're not playing or traveling so much we dive in deep to the business and we managed to get some long overdue projects tackled - like placing some music at iTunes and making MoonHouse Records music available to radio stations digitally at Airplay Direct.  These are great new tools for independent artists like this mom and pop.
My son Troupe is all settled in at USC and loving it.  I did well - only one day of complete and utter breakdown!
I get to spend my birthday on September 12 driving across the plains towards South Dakota and then having dinner with some of my favorite pals at Minerva's
in Sioux Falls.
Notice my charitable donation idea is our very own Swan Songs.  I didn't have room for our mission statement, but go to the website for more information.
     Enjoy the whisper of autumn!

Swan Songs

Swan Songs is now a partner in the Randall's grocery store Good Neighbor Program in Texas.  Next time you shop at Randall's, go to the customer service window and add Swan Songs as a charity to your Randall's card.  For every dollar you spend, Randall's will donate 1% to Swan Songs!  Our number is 11463.  Be sure to take that with you when you sign up.  Thank you for taking the time to set up this simple way to support Swan Songs' mission.

...and a note from Chris...

I'm actually looking forward to getting to Europe this fall.  I end up spending so much time at computers, between the emails, the websites and the studio, that the world outside my window tends to stay outside.  When we get to Europe, even though it's fast paced and busy we spend more time in conversation, and more time just looking at scenery that's rolling by.  This will be our first time in England or Scotland together, so I'll try to take a lot of pictures and set out a little slide show on our tour photo page.  (There I go again, sitting at the computer for hours on end).
My friend Chan sends amazing photo-essays from his world travels, and told me his secret; he goes for walks without his camera, taking note of what his pictures should be.  Then, before he leaves the location he draws up a little shot plan and heads out with his 'point and shoot' and captures his images all at once. I don't know if I can pull that off, but I might try.  Wish me luck.
