Brötchen (little breads) are usually the first thing we eat upon arrival in Sachsenheim.  Many German folks walk to the bakery every morning for the fresh ones.

The pretzels are amazing, very bread-like.  They slice them open on the fat end and fill with meat and cheese, usually with half a stick of butter.
