Albert and Gage e-Newsletter August 2009
Hey and howdy, friends and fans. Fresh from a successful South Dakota tour, we are super proud to
announce that "Dakota Lullaby" is #31 on the
Americana chart. Bringing
Tom Peterson's great songs to a wider audience has been one of the most rewarding
journeys of our career so far. Tom joined us on stage at the Sioux River
Folk Festival and unveiled a new song and on our way out of town he gave us
lyrics to another great one he is working on. That's the way the creative
process works...sparks fly and you never know what they're going to
ignite. Scroll down to see a new picture of Albert and Gage and Peterson. Special thanks to Lisa Grey, passionate radio promoter
extraordinaire, for the heart and commitment she has brought to this project.
Available now - "Dakota Lullaby" t-shirts. Sport this
beautiful artwork by Jim Geier Stevens on your beautiful body. All the
usual sizes from small to XXL. Order today, along with the CD, at
www.moonhouserecords.com.

Chris will be working on several projects at
MoonHouse Studio this month, as
well as recording at The Zone with Jerry Jeff
Walker and hopping on the tour bus with JJW to go to Louisiana for a weekend.
Christine will stay home and write songs, go swimming, sing at a retirement
community to gain wisdom from some elders, and basically enjoy taking that
weekend off.

A note
from Christine:
We are somewhere between Norman. Oklahoma and
Austin. Chris is driving while I have fun on the laptop so I
thought I'd get a head start on the newsletter.
The South Dakota trip was perfect - really. How
satisfying to sing Tom's songs for him and for audiences who have
been fans of his for years, as well as people who had never heard
his music before. The weather was mild and having David
Carroll along inspired us to take some detours so that we could see
some of South Dakota's landmarks - Mt. Rushmore, the Badlands, Wall
Drug, bikers in Sturgis. I had a vision of
doing a trip like this someday and hiring a
Scenicruiser to follow
along, filled with Albert and Gage fans who have never experienced
South Dakota. David never got to see the Corn Palace or
Spearfish Canyon, so there's more to do!
I've got a French show at Central Market this month -
I'm craving that music and look forward to spending some time
getting back into my chanteuse heart to prepare for it.
Tony Airoldi will be
joining us on guitar this time. Bravo!
Okay, I'm gearing up for 105 degrees again. Here
we come Austin!
Love, Christine |

And
a blurb from Chris:
It's great to be home after the 4000 miles of
highway. We drive a Ford F-150 (we all do in Texas) and we
pulled a 4 by 8 U-Haul trailer along to accommodate the big bass,
the sound system and the new Dakota Lullaby T-shirts. It takes
me awhile, but my trailer-backing skills come back eventually.
As a teenager I would be in charge of backing our boat into the
Missouri River. Only one minor mishap...a big truck tire in
the middle of the highway and nowhere to swerve. U-Haul of
course charged us for the rubber marks on the side of the trailer!
It was great to see Tom Peterson again, and to hear
some new songs. My favorite chorus:
Take heed of Al Gore's warning
Keep your carbon footprint light
I believe in global warming
But there's an iceberg in our bedroom tonight
Highlight of the trip? Shooting off killer
fireworks as a guest of Doug and Shirley outside of Sioux Falls.
Oh, and the coffee at Black Sheep. Oh, and the pie at Al's Oasis.
Oh, and the ice cream at the Zesto. Oh......
See you at the gig.
