Albert and Gage e-Newsletter February 2010
please visit our website albertandgage.com
Greetings from the MoonHouse in lovely south Austin, Texas.
We've been to Belize, (take the
photo tour), we've
attended the Grammys, we've added vintage keyboards to the studio, and we've
gotten our promotional material ready for a trek to the national Folk Alliance
Conference in Memphis in a couple weeks. We'll celebrate love on
Valentine's Day with Christine's Annual Valentine's French Concert at The Wild
Basin with a stellar "orchestre". This always sells out, so make your
plans this week!
In the "proud mama" category, Christine's son
Troupe Gammage's band SPEAK will release their first EP this week with several
events in Austin.
Check it out here.
Austin, Wylie, Belton, Gruene and Memphis - here we
come.

A note
from Christine:
It's been another overdrive month of travel and
mind blowing experiences, from reeling in the sharks to rockin' in
the Staples Center. Our life never ceases to amaze me.
Today I spent a healthy number of hours on the couch sleeping - my
body can't quite keep up with the pace that my passion creates, so I
have to catch my breath once in awhile.
I've been enjoying doing my new
blog. I
have challenged myself to connect with the natural world around me
more and to write about the transformation - in my inner and outer
life. When I'm in town and can actually get out there and do
it, the effects are profound. I am a happier, healthier and
more satisfied woman. The demands of our many projects and
commitments keep me in my head too much and my spirit suffers.
There's something about being outside and in the garden that
balances that for me and renews my energy. After four days of
Grammy red carpet galas it's been awhile since I actually put shovel
to earth and trust me, it shows! I wouldn't exactly say I'm
glowing tonight, but I'm sure I'll get it back with just an hour of
weeding. You can take the earth mother to Beverly Hills, but
you better get her back to the Texas Hills asap.
Grateful for simple pleasures,
Christine |

And
a blurb from Chris:
I've never been much of a fisherman,
but living on the island in
sight of the great barrier reef was a true joy, and fishing was the
pleasure of the day. Of course it was made easy with Jerry
Jeff's island guy Armando who drove the boat, baited the hook and
cleaned the fish! We caught enough snapper every morning for
lunch and dinner, and went night fishing once for huge snapper,
horse-eyes and reef shark. I should also mention that
Armando's wife Marie then cooks the fish and sets the table!
Tough duty. It
can all be yours, by the way. When Jerry Jeff and Susan
are stateside their beautiful home is for rent by the week with
Armando and Marie. It sleeps 10 and is the most beautiful
setting I've ever seen. Follow the photo tour
here to see what I mean.
I followed my Recording Academy Trustee wife to the
Grammys last weekend, and had a ball. It's our third year, so
we're old hands. Highlights...meeting
Geoff Emerick, the engineer that recorded the Beatles, seeing
Tony Bennett giving Quincy Jones a hug two rows in front of me,
hearing Leonard Cohen recite "The
Tower of Song" and having a lovely conversation with Nashville
studio legend
Harold Bradley and his wife. Like I said, tough duty.
See you at the gig.
Chris
